Corporate computer bulletin board system access regulations
@001 operates a computer telecommunications service (referred to
as the "BBS") for corporate communications and customer support.
The following regulations apply to the use of the system.
Violation of any of these regulations is a serious breach of the
employment relationship between @001 and any employee who
violates these rules. Violations may result in dismissal or other
sanctions.
A. Access to the system. Supervisors of each department may
request that employees under their authority receive access to
the BBS. The @002 shall make the determination whether such
requests shall be granted. If such a request is granted, the
employee to receive access shall choose a unique password. Pass
words must not include the initials or name of the employee or
their relatives, and must be non-obvious. The @002 shall
determine what security level and access level each employee
shall receive and shall inform the employee in writing what their
access level is and what areas and functions they may perform on
the BBS. Passwords must be changed at least once each 90 days.
B. Limitation of access. Employees granted access to the BBS must
take effective steps to protect their password from disclosure.
For example, writing the pass word down in a rolodex placed on
top of an unsecured desk, or on the bottom of the key pad is
unacceptable. Telling third parties ones password is also a
violation of this policy.
